Windows Live Messenger Addon Development

The MSN Messenger Service is a widely spread instant messaging service that has over 150 million registered users worldwide and has at peak times activity of around 30 million users online. The service also includes the possibility to communicate with Yahoo! Messenger users, extending the network capability by an extra 20 million active users.

Windows Live Messenger does provide a plugin API but the features exposed are a very limited subset. Also, this plugin support is not enabled by default and requires the user intervention.

Moreover, as of January 3rd 2008 the Windows Live Messenger Add-In API interface is no longer supported.

We offer our development services to create custom addons for Windows Live Messenger.

Take a look at the article on our blog about a MSN Messenger addon example.

We have also published an extensive article about Live Messenger applied research in the field of plugin development, entitled "Windows Live Messenger Plugin Development Bible" at the CodeProject website.

The code is available in both in binary and source format and is released under the GNU General Public License.
